50 years of alpine sports in Hodlekve

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Oddvar Uglum's ski lift in Hodlekve. One January day in 1972, Oddvar Uglum turned up with his Mini-Max. The first rope was pulled up, about 350-400 meters long. "Being pulled up was quite an adventure. But as early as the 1940s, competitions were held in the Rindabotn area, where the new ski center is now. Hans Faleide took the initiative and arranged races for three-man teams competing for the "Easter shield" in the war years 1940-45. At Ugla, too, German-Austrian soldiers had taught turning techniques to local young people during the war.

In 1980, Sogndal IL and the alpine skiing group organized the Junior World Championships in Hodlekve. By then, the new Poma lift was in place. Many enthusiasts had done a tremendous job to make this happen.

On Saturday, March 19, we want to mark this anniversary.

Eldskjelene kjem and tell us a little about the start of the adventure in Hodlekve. NEUMANN Kaupanger is our biggest sponsor and today they are giving away free use of the Neumann pull and the children's pull in Hodlekve. In the Sil cabin by the lower parking lots, you will be able to see pictures from the start, here you can also get a good story or two from how Sogndølene used the area 50 years ago! Here you will also have the opportunity to grill, as we set up fire pits. ❄️❄️❄️
