Digdir is recruiting!
At Leikanger, in the middle of the new Sogndal municipality and the mountain and fjord landscape of western Norway, the Norwegian Digitization Agency has a large development and operations department. - "There's always something exciting happening here, and now we need more skilled professionals - preferably those who dare to challenge and think in new ways," says Jørn Stenehjem at Digdir.
Digdir is sponsoring the ski center and the Mountain Sports Festival again this winter. This is not without reason: Digdir targets committed and professionally strong candidates who are interested in technology, take responsibility and are open to thinking, working and interacting in new ways.
- What is most attractive about working at Digdir?
- Exciting work tasks in a good working environment! Our people work on many development projects both nationally and internationally," says section manager Jørn Stenehjem.
Digdir in Leikanger currently has 120 employees, as well as similarly sized departments in Oslo and Brønnøysund with which the Leikanger environment works closely. Jørn manages 28 developers and a professional environment that is at the forefront in Europe in some areas.
- It's about developing solutions that will make everyday life easier for you and me. One example is electronic ID, which is becoming increasingly important and is a field in rapid development. Over the past two years, we've delivered a number of solutions that have played a key role in managing the pandemic," says Jørn.
Digdir delivers several components that are critical to society, and these must be further developed in parallel with a sharp increase in usage. In this context, it's important to be open, adopt new technology and at the same time understand both risks and opportunities.
- What are they doing to stop climate change?
- We create digital solutions that reduce the use of paper, unnecessary travel and, simply put, make life easier for citizens and society. We also contribute to an open society and better administration by delivering good solutions that provide insight into what the public sector is working on.
- So sometimes things boil over in Digdir?
"Most of the time, but it's important that it doesn't boil over. Fortunately, it rarely does," Jørn assures us.
- In what situations would you and your people say it's great to work at Digdir?
- When we get to work on and launch important solutions for society. When we get a comment from a colleague that "this was good, you"! When we sit in the canteen, overlooking the fjord and plan a summit trip.
