Four out of five elevators in operation
Today I'm starting up the Neumann lift and the children's lift at the SIL cabin.
This means that four of our five ski lifts are in operation. At the lift in Kalvavatni, we still need a little more snow before we can press the start button.
The trail from Rindabotn to the SIL cabin through the cabin field is prepped and ready to use for those who want to use it from their cabin or between the lifts.
In the alpine sections of the Neumann lift, the old Poma lift, I have pulled four or five traction machine widths. There may be some twigs and roots sticking up in places, so take this into account when you're hurtling down.
There's a lot of activity in the cross-country skiing facility both late and early in the 5-kilometer race. We need a little more snow before we can prep and prepare for the 10-kilometer race.
The same applies to our mountain trails: Here we need more and firmer snow before we can drive heavy tractors further up. There has been a lot of wind up in the mountains, so take this into account both in terms of avalanche risk and rocks and mountains that are barely covered by snow.
If you're heading out into steeper terrain, it's always wise to read the current avalanche forecast on varsom.no and plan and carry out your trip accordingly.
Have a good trip!
