Here you will find the good winter
We're open every single day up to and including May 1. We guarantee great winter experiences.
Do you dream of a good, old-fashioned winter with lots of snow? Here at Sogndal Skisenter we have just that.
There's a reason they say we have the best snow in the world here in Sogndalsdalen. It's all about climate and proximity to Jostedalsbreen.
Of course, we're also tripping when autumn turns to winter and we check the weather forecasters' long-term forecasts time and time again. Sometimes we have to wait a long time, like this season when it was getting close to Christmas before we could open our lifts.
But when winter comes, we have it for a long time. We've had a great start to the current season.
Our resort is family-friendly and adapted to all levels of enjoyment, no matter what type of skiing you like best. In the alpine section, we have five ski lifts with six groomed slopes. Two of the ski lifts are built for children and low-heel use. We have kilometers of groomed mountain trails in varied terrain and a great cross-country arena that is groomed every single day.
Our meeting place Dalalåven is open every day 10-16, and on weekends 10-18. Here you can quench your thirst and enjoy both hot and cold food, and we have a unique playroom for the little ones. At Dalalåven we also have an Intersport shop with ski rental. If you need ski instructors or guides, get in touch and we're sure it can be arranged.
Ten or twelve minutes by car and you're in the center of Sogndal with shops of all kinds, restaurants, pubs, cinema, fitness center and one of the country's finest climbing and bouldering facilities in Sognahallen.
You, your family and friends are very welcome to visit us. Feel free to contact us by email or phone if you have any questions.
From Florø, it's just under two hours' drive to Sogndal Ski Center.
If you live in Førde, you're only an hour away. From Bergen to Sogndal it takes about four hours, from Oslo to Sogndal five to six hours by car. From Bergen, you can also take an express boat, bus or plane. From Oslo, you can take an express bus or plane if you don't drive.
Welcome to us!
Holentrekket is the T-bar lift that takes you up into Høgfjellet. Here you have the opportunity to ski groomed trails or head out into the terrain. Lift-based free skiing is underrated, the best of which can be found here in Sogndal after a real snow dump. Often when the snow conditions are at their best, it's also clear in the air. "Whiteout" is a well-known phenomenon in many places, destroying the visibility of the best lines.
But not on such a large scale for us. Deep days on cushions between mountain birches as a reference point open up for great skiing even if it's cloudy. Don't forget the perfectly groomed trail with an average width of 45 meters. You can also take Holentrekket to get up to Kalvavatnititrekket.
The Kalvavatnitnit run is the T-bar run that has become the big family favorite. The two downhill trails are perfect for families with children who have grown out of the children's trail. The slopes are not too steep and there are great views. With several opportunities for a nice descent.
The Toyota drive is the children's drive in Rindabotn. This is where the little ones learn their first turns. This is probably also where the joy of skiing is greatest, even if the slope is the smallest. This is where a new love of skiing and skiing pleasure is created. The attraction is located in the immediate vicinity of Dalalåven. There you'll find a playroom and a café, so it's a very short walk to a quick break. A hot chocolate and a waffle or today's locally sourced selection from the menu.
The headache move is the pomade move. This is where it all started for us in the 1970s. The Poma lift walks defiantly every winter, it will soon be 40 years old. It stands there steadfastly, pulling us up trip after trip. No one has done so much to facilitate pure and unadulterated skiing pleasure as good old "Poma".
Hodlekvebarnetrekk is located opposite Hodlekvetrekket, which is our old children's slope, but it is still in full operation today. Here, many a child's foot has taken the first turns to become a real avalanche dog. In Hodlekvetrekka you'll also find evening skiing. Three days a week from 18-21. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
