Yes, you read that right, it has been documented that we have the best snow in the world here in Sogndal.

Here at Sogndal Skisenter there are a number of options for accommodation, both in cabins and campsites here in the ski center - or at one of the hotels down in the center of Sogndal, just ten or twelve minutes drive from our center.

Our ski lifts run every day until 1 May, and we have great cross-country ski trails and mountain trails that stretch for miles in beautiful mountain scenery.

The best snow in the world, you ask?

Yes, and it's all about climate and geography. Deep inland by the world's longest (and most beautiful!) fjord, the Sognefjord, we have the best of coastal and inland climates. And then there's our proximity to the Jostedal Glacier.

As is often the case when rain and bad weather are forecast in Western Norway in winter, this rain lands on us as snow. Lousy, dry and good snow. Jostedalsbreen cools down the rain and transforms it into this beautiful, white snow.

Not just in Sogndal, but in large parts of Sogn, we can offer fantastic ski touring opportunities, many places with lovely views of the Sognefjord. With Sogndal Ski Center as your starting point, you can pick and choose from Ski touring, and steep or less steep descents.

On tour with a guide.

Several guide companies in the area offer exclusive ski touring experiences, or various courses in safe travel in steep winter landscapes. From the top of our lift system you can choose groomed descents, or descents in the fluffy snow that we are so fond of here.

Our resort is also well suited to families with children, with two ski lifts suitable for children and those who don't want it to be so steep with downhill skis under their feet.
