The 5-kilometer cross-country race is ready!
Finally! The entire 5-kilometer section of the cross-country ski trails is now ready for use - with tracks all the way.
There's not much snow, and the snow we do have is fluffy and cold, so machine operator Kurt Ove hasn't had much to play with. Yesterday, he made the rounds without a milling machine and track laying machine, to compact the snow and let the sub-zero temperatures do the work. And around noon today, the day before, he was able to serve up the happy news that now the cross-country skiing season can finally start here.
There are a few tufts of grass and bushes sticking up here and there, especially down by the stadium area itself, but no worse than you can safely get out and test your cross-country skis.
Happy cross-country skiing!
PS! Dalalåven is open every day from now on, and on Christmas Eve we will start the Toyota drive.
