Me opens the Toyota tire on Christmas Eve
We still need more snow to open the large ski lifts in our facility.
Many have already taken out their skis and are using their own energy to test mountain skis and some
more powerful ski touring equipment from Rindabotn. But the barely half a meter of snow is diverre
too loose and airy for us to prepare the steepest lift routes and slopes.
But we have a happy announcement: Christmas Eve will open for the youngest when the Toyota train is cranked in
time.
- We start the Toyota train and keep up Dalalåven, says day-to-day manager Per-Odd
Grevsnes.
He crosses both skis and poles in the hope of more snow as soon as possible, so that he and his staff
He can start up the other ski resorts and offer good cross-country trails.
The cold weather in November and December has led to deep frost in the ground, so deep that Reipa
and all the streams and ditches have gone dry. This means that the snow cannon is now unemployed; it is
simply not enough water for snow production. And the snow that has fallen is of the
turn and let the battle begin.
- We're betting that things will turn around soon and that we'll get a good replenishment during Christmas," says Per-Odd.
Regardless, he promises a real commitment to the ski center in the future. From Christmas Eve onwards it will be open
kvar dag, both in Toyoytatetrekket and Dalalåven.
- The season's activity plan will be ready shortly. "There's a lot to look forward to," says
Per-Odd.
PS! On Christmas Eve I also try to prepare the 5-kilometer course in the cross-country arena. The route was
pulled by machine on Thursday, December 22, and on Christmas Eve we try our hand at milling and
Tracker. Stay tuned for updates on Facebook and Instagram.
